My first visit of the year was to Sorrento for the beautiful wedding of Nadine & Dan. My good friend Rachel had asked if I fancied a little trip away to second shoot for her and spend a few days in the sun, of course I jumped at the offer! We spent a couple of days in Capri, you can see some photos here, before travelling over to Sorrento to prepare for the big day!
We met with Nadine, Dan and their bridesmaids and groomsmen at the Grand Hotel Parco del Sole bright and early on the day of the wedding. Rachel stayed with the girls while I photographed the boys, something I only really get to do when I’m second shooting and which is always a good laugh!
From the hotel we traveled to the venue for the ceremony, Dan and his best man in a vintage Alfa Romeo Spider, where family and friends were already gathering. The Cloisters is a truly stunning place to get married, standing in the 14th century courtyard, surrounded by vines and bougainvillea with the sun shining down is almost magical!
After the ceremony the new Mr & Mrs Rolfe spent some time with their guests, enjoying a refreshing glass of bubbly and an ice-cream before we took them off for a romantic stroll to get some couple shots. As we were walking through the streets of Sorrento, locals and tourists alike kept stopping us to congratulate the couple! For the reception we headed round the corner to The Foreigners’ Club. With it’s stunning views overlooking the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius and food to die for it was a great place to celebrate for the rest of the day!
After the first dance we were treated to a surprise rendition of “That’s Amore” performed by the wedding party with personalised versus, which went down a treat with the happy couple, especially Nadine who was in stitches!
I really loved helping with this wedding, even though I was only second shooting Nadine and Dan and all their family and friends made me feel so welcome, thank you guys! 🙂
