This year I will be offering my brides the opportunity to get some boudoir images done for their husband-to-be as a wedding day gift, what man wouldn’t appreciate that?! 😉
My guinea pig for my first shoot was one of my beautiful brides from the end of 2014, Kylie, and the recipient of these sexy images was her now husband of just over two weeks, Graeme! I loved working with these two on their pre-wedding shoot a few months ago, they had loads of ideas and were really easy going and good fun so Kylie was the perfect person to practise on!
I didn’t really know what we would produce on the day of the shoot but I knew I wanted the images to be feminine and sexy without just being all tits and arse! I met Kylie at her home so she would feel as comfortable as possible. She’d been shopping and had a selection of gorgeous underwear plus she wanted to wear her wedding shoes too (well they are sparkly and fabulous!)
The light was disappearing rapidly by the time we started but it actually worked out well, forcing me to work quickly with a wide aperture and high ISO which I think give the first section of the shoot a certain grainy film look. For the second part of the shoot I had to introduce some artificial light which gives a different feel completely but I feel are equally lovely.
Here are a few words from Kylie about her experience:
“I wanted to do a bridal boudoir shoot as a gift to Gray as I thought it would be a nice keepsake and a reminder of what I was like in my youth when I am old and saggy! Also I don’t ever think of myself as sexy so I wanted to do something sexy for my future husband. I had been umming and ahhhhing for years about a boudoir shoot as a wedding gift and I kept going to enquire about it to Emma and then chickening out. One day I just thought “oh what the hell” and emailed her, and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done!
I didn’t really have any expectations as I really didn’t know what to expect, I just hoped that I looked pretty, that the pictures were sexy but also tasteful and that Gray would like them. I had my bridal hair and make-up trial that day too, and I am so glad I did. There’s no one else but Emma I wanted to do this shoot with. She made me feel completely at ease from the beginning, and it was quite terrifying walking into a room wearing hardly anything but Emma made me feel so comfortable and relaxed.
The pictures are beyond anything I could have imagined. I am so happy with them. I just love the natural feel and the pictures look like me and that’s what I wanted. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a boudoir shoot with Emma. All I can say is that’s one more thing ticked off the bucket list!!”
And a few words from Graeme about his gift:
“When I opened the book I was taken aback, I knew straight away it was Kylie and my first thought as I flicked through was how classy it looked and how amazing she looked. It was also an amazing gift and something I didn’t expect so it was a lovely surprise.”
Kylie, thank you so much for being a dream to work with, I feel like we have a lifetime bond now after seeing your gorgeous lady bumps, haha! Lots of love to you and your lucky hubby! xxx
